Boyd spends $500K on TV ad running during Olympics

Press release from Randy Boyd campaign

Nashville, Tenn. — Just in time for the Olympics, Randy Boyd, Republican candidate for Governor, released a new ad entitled “Grit” highlighting the American Dream and his rise from factory worker and first-generation college student to successful entrepreneur and founder of Radio Systems Corporation.

The $500,000 statewide broadcast and cable TV buy will air on Friday, Feb. 9 during the Opening Ceremonies of the Winter Olympics and will continue through the Closing Ceremonies on Sunday, Feb. 25….

“Randy’s newest ad is a testament to the American belief that any obstacle can be overcome with grit and determination, “ said Chip Saltsman, Campaign CEO. “America loves an underdog success story and Tennesseans will see that Randy Boyd’s story is of someone who started from scratch and worked night and day to earn his success as an entrepreneur and businessman.”

The one-minute ad initially highlights seminal moments in American history then cuts to Boyd’s personal history as a factory worker who paid his way through college as a first-generation student, to young man who risked it all to begin a business that ultimately failed.

But “26 years and hundreds of jobs later, their comeback is a story of success,” the ad touts as it outlines Boyd’s next endeavor with his wife Jenny, the successful development of Radio Systems Corporation, the Knoxville-based pet products company that now employs more than 700 people worldwide, under brands including PetSafe, SportDog and InvisibleFence.

“Randy’s goal is to make Tennessee THE State of Opportunity for ALL Tennesseans and that’s coming from having made the journey the hard way himself,” said Saltsman. “His is a genuine, American success story, and we hope to not only inspire Tennesseans but to show them the true character of Randy as a hard-working businessman and principled conservative, who now wants to help create the same opportunities for every Tennessean and community in the state,” said Saltsman.

“Grit” also highlights Boyd’s love of running with views of him running through his hometown in Knoxville. Boyd is an established marathon runner, who last year completed an historic 537.3 mile campaign run across the state from Bristol to Memphis.

Randy! is the most liberal Republican running, a Jeb! Bush Republican whose election will result in conservatives looking back on the Sundquist/Haslam administrations as the golden age of conservative governance. I’m inclined to vote for Harwell but I will vote for any candidate with the best chance of defeating Randy!. Conservatives, please, ANYBODY BUT BOYD!

”After buying an RV and traveling to all 95 Tennessee counties in 95 days, Lee came to the conclusion that most Tennesseans want good jobs, good schools and safe neighborhoods.
