Trump nominates U.S. Marshal for East TN

David G. Jolley, who once was U.S. Marshal for West Tennessee, has been nominated by President Donald Trump to become U.S. Marshall for East Tennessee.

Jolley was one of several such nominations announced Tuesday in a White House news release. Excerpt from the portion dealing with Jolley:

Mr. Jolley is currently a Senior Security Consultant for TRC Environmental & Engineering Corporation, a position he has held since 2014.

From 2009 to 2014, Mr. Jolley served as Director of the Tennessee Valley Authority Police. Previously, Mr. Jolley served for seven years as United States Marshal for the Western District of Tennessee, appointed by President George W. Bush in 2002.

He began his law enforcement career as a Special Agent for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, where he served for 18 years. Mr. Jolley holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration from Middle Tennessee State University.

The nomination is subject to U.S. Senate confirmation. Tennessee’s two senators, Lamar Alexander and Bob Corker, both issued statements praising Jolley’s qualifications.

Note: Jolley is the husband of Jane Jolley, who serves as field coordinator in Sen. Corker’s Knoxville office.
